The Ministry of Social Development and Family Services (MSDFS) (of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago) is inviting vulnerable Members of the Public who had their Jobs and Sources of Income affected (either Suspended or Terminated) resulting from the latest Public Health Regulations (Legal Notices # 124 and 131) implemented in May (2021), to apply for the Income Support Grant (ISG), a COVID-19 Relief Measure.

The Income Support Grant (for persons not in the formal/NIS system) is up to a maximum of $1,500.00 for the month of May 2021 ONLY. Once eligible, persons who lost their income with effect from May 1st (2021) will receive $1,500.00. Persons who lost their income with effect from May 8th (2021) will receive $1,000.00.


NOTICE

  • Only persons who do not have a NIS Number should apply.

  • Only persons who lost their income on or after May 1st 2021 should apply.

  • All false and misleading information contained in the Application will be reported to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service for their investigation and further action.

  • It is to be noted that Salary Relief Grant being issued by the Ministry of Finance is different from the Income Support Grant that is being issued by the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services, and of utmost importance, Applicants are strongly cautioned against, and MUST NOT apply for BOTH the Salary Relief Grant and the Income Support Grant.

The Ministry also wishes to state that once verifications are completed, Applications will be processed accordingly. Persons who are still receiving salary/wages from their employers must not apply.
