for the Month of May 2021
Figure 1
The Ministry of Health (of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago) has been Reporting New COVID-19 Positive Cases from Samples taken on multiple days in each of their Daily Media Releases so the number of New Positive Cases no longer reflects the previous twenty-four (24) hours (of Testing). In light of such, we have analysed the Reported Statistics (outlined in Table below) from Saturday 1st May (2021) to present to provide the Unofficial Daily Averages of the COVID-19 Positive Cases in the Country.
Disclaimer: Our calculations are only averages (derived at from the MoH Statistics), and are not to be interpreted as Official Ministry Findings. The Population, and all Readers, are reminded to rely solely on Information from Official Sources, such as the Ministry's Website and Facebook Page.

Understanding Figure 2: Let us analyse Thursday 13th May (2021)
New COVID-19 Positive Cases from Samples taken on Thursday 13th May would have been Reported in the Ministry's Daily Media Releases on the following days:
Friday 14th May, which included Positive Cases from Samples taken on Monday 10th, Tuesday 11th, Wednesday 12th, and Thursday 13th May, a Total of four (4) days;
Saturday 15th May, which included Positive Cases from Samples taken on Tuesday 11th, Wednesday 12th, Thursday 13th, Friday 14th, and Saturday 15th May, a Total of five (5) days;
Sunday 16th May, which included Positive Cases from Samples taken on Wednesday 12th, Thursday 13th, Friday 14th, and Saturday 15th May, a Total of four (4) days;
Monday 17th May, which included Positive Cases from Samples taken on Thursday 13th, Friday 14th, Saturday 15th, and Sunday 16th May, a Total of four (4) days; and
Tuesday 18th May, which included Positive Cases from Samples taken on Thursday 13th, Friday 14th, Saturday 15th, and Sunday 16th May, a Total of four (4) days.
Calculating Daily Averages from Reported Figures in Daily Media Releases
Friday 14th May had 565 Cases Reported for Samples taken over a 4-day period gives you an average of141;
Saturday 15th May had 520 Cases Reported for Samples taken over a 5-day period gives you an average of104;
Sunday 16th May had 356 Cases Reported for Samples taken over a 4-day period gives you an average of 89;
Monday 17th May had 294 Cases Reported for Samples taken over a 4-day period gives you an average of 74; and
Tuesday 18th May had 601 Cases Reported for Samples taken over a 4-day period gives you an average of 150.
Summary of Daily Averages: 141 + 104 + 89 + 74 + 150
Total of Daily Averages: 558
The purpose of the "COMPARISON TO MEDIA RELEASE" Column (in Figure 2) is to assist in eliminating some of the panic among the population where the Daily Media Release Figure (of Positive Cases) may have been extremely high to what we were familiar to. As explained above, the Figures represent Samples from multiple days, and not only the preceding twenty-four (24) hours. In some instances "LESS" can be seen in this Column. Additionally, the need to influence a greater sense of responsibility is there, where the Daily Average actually exceeded the Media Releases Figures, "MORE" can be seen in the Column.
